We recently stayed at this beautiful cottage in the heart of Castleton, just a short drive from the stunning Buxton Opera House and the magnificent Chatsworth House. The cottage itself was a delightful blend of charming old-world style and modern comforts, with a lovely shower and well-equipped kitchen. The cozy living room provided a comfortable space for our family to relax, although we were unable to use the log burner during our visit. The highlight for us was the enchanting garden, complete with a picturesque stream. We also appreciated the thoughtful welcome pack, including essential items like milk, toilet paper, and hand soap. Castleton itself was a delightful village, with lovely walks, great pubs serving delicious food, and charming gift shops. Our family had a wonderful stay and would definitely consider returning.
In my wife's opinion, families with children might have appreciated a few more kid-friendly activities or amenities in the cottage.

The cottage was well presented and very clean, a well styled mix of old and new. The shower and kitchen were nice, and the living room was comfortable. The garden was enchanting, with a stream and fairy lights creating a peaceful atmosphere. There was a useful welcome pack with clear instructions and bonus items such as milk, toilet paper, and hand soap. The location was great, with gorgeous walks, great pubs, and nice gift shops nearby.
The owner had promised to refund a discount for the scaffolding which was still up during our stay, but despite contacting them, the refund was not given. Additionally, the carbon monoxide detector in the bedroom had a very bright flashing monitor which was quite annoying during the night.
